EDCOR AND BARNES & NOBLE.COM TEAM UP TO
STREAMLINE CORPORATE TEXTBOOK PURCHASING
Integrating Tuition Reimbursement Administration
and Online Textbook Purchasing Give Corporate Students a Better
Way to Buy Books
Pontiac, Michigan – July, 2003 –
Edcor, the nation’s leading provider of corporate tuition
reimbursement and administration solutions, is partnering
with Barnes & Noble.com (www.bn.com) to develop a new
web-based textbook purchasing and reimbursement process. This
unique integration of Barnes & Noble.com’s Custom
Bookstores with Edcor’s reimbursement tracking services
enables students in a corporate learning environment to easily
purchase textbooks via the web at discounted prices, and have
all costs automatically reimbursed.
Using a link from Edcor’s tuition reimbursement
portal, corporate students make their purchase selections
from the extensive list of over 300,000 new and used textbooks
that Barnes & Noble.com has to offer. Students are prompted
to follow purchasing guidelines unique to their company and
curriculum, and all textbook expenditures are then automatically
matched to the student’s “account” and credited
for reimbursement.
Lance P. Ross, Edcor’s Sales Director
of Reimbursement Services said, “This partnership is
a natural fit considering Edcor’s presence in the corporate
tuition reimbursement market and Barnes & Noble.com’s
impressive textbook catalog. Our objective is to simplify
the textbook purchasing and reimbursement process for our
clients.”
“Partnering with Edcor is an important
part of our corporate growth strategy,” said Brian Buckley,
Vice President of Professional Sales and Merchandising for
Barnes & Noble.com. “Through its tuition reimbursement
process, Edcor interfaces with over 150,000 students annually.
Each of these students will likely purchase textbooks. Barnes
& Noble.com offers corporate bookstores that are configurable
to support various payment strategies including corporate
purchasing cards, purchase orders, or individual credit cards
as well as a suite of reports to manage this expense.”
