Colorado State University-Global Campus (CSU-Global) can now begin admitting Colorado freshmen after Governor John Hickenlooper signed Senate Bill 18-101 into law today. With the passage of this bill, which received unanimous bipartisan support in both chambers of the General Assembly, the 100 percent online, independently accredited state university gains the ability to serve all Colorado students, regardless of age or previous college experience.

“This is an exciting next step in CSU-Global’s continued evolution as a leader in higher education,” said Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker, president and CEO of CSU-Global. “As a nonprofit public university, we look forward to providing students of all ages with the access and opportunity to continue their education through our high-quality, innovative, and career-relevant degree and certificate programs.”

“The Colorado State University System is proud to be able to take this step in our service to learners in Colorado and worldwide,” stated Dr. Tony Frank, Chancellor of the CSU System. “We believe the expansion of CSU-Global’s ability to serve Colorado Freshmen aligns with the System mission, to create opportunities for building a stronger future for Colorado, particularly as we look towards meeting the needs of our rural Colorado citizens.”

CSU-Global was founded in 2007 by the Colorado State University System with the unique mission of serving working adults through bachelor’s degree completion and master degree programs. Today’s measure removes the final limitation on admitting freshmen in Colorado and establishes CSU-Global as a full four-year state university.

Since 2008, CSU-Global has provided educational programs that focus on practical workplace skills and knowledge with a quantifiable return on investment. Colorado freshmen interested in learning more should visit CSUGlobal.edu/freshmen for full admission and enrollment requirements.

Colorado State University-Global Campus is the first and only 100% online, independent, regionally accredited, nonprofit state university in the United States. CSU-Global provides affordable, high quality bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and nationally recognized certificates to advance modern learners in our global marketplace. The university also partners with organizations to provide discounted tuition and articulated transfer credits for on-the-job training for employees to advance their education and increase their skills.
